I joined Slimming World in 2000 at 19.5 stones. I realised that food controlled me, and I wanted to have the support of other people who were in the same boat as me. At first, I was scared of walking in through the door, but I realised that if I never made the first step through the door then I would never make the first step to losing the weight. But in my first week I lost 7.5lbs and had eaten more than I had ever eaten. In 2002, reached my weight-loss target losing 9.5 stones and have never looked back since.
