Slimming World introduces new video workouts to help members move more!
Slimming World has recently introduced 52 bespoke workouts to support its group and online members to make being active part of their daily routine.
The new video library is an additional resource in Slimming World’s physical activity programme which launched in 2003 to support members to get more active in a way that suits them and their lifestyles.
Exclusive to members through the Slimming World website and app, the videos include everything from a gentle 5-minute introduction to moving more, to 15 and 30-minute cardio workouts and dance routines, providing members with the opportunity to exercise in the comfort of their own home, at their personal level and help them on their way to lifelong health and fitness.
Working with fitness content creator, 1FitLife, Slimming World has designed the new videos to support everyone from true beginners to those wanting ideas about how to build in new ways of being active, and offers resources in four different styles of activity: balance and flexibility, cardio, strength-building and dance.
At Slimming World, we help members to embrace our generous and flexible eating plan, Food Optimising, and move more, more often – at their own pace – with our unique activity programme.
Rebecca Robinson, Director of Communications at Slimming World, said: “The combination of healthy eating and moderate intensity activity creates a synergy that we call Body Magic. These positive lifestyle changes around food and exercise help members to feel fitter and healthier, lose the weight they’d love and, importantly, maintain their new weight for good.
“No matter what their starting point, through Slimming World’s expert help in group and online, members are encouraged to identify and overcome personal, often long-held barriers around getting started or about keeping going with their physical activity. Members choose when to start, where to start and they set the pace – finding activities they love doing – whether that’s walking, gardening, rollerskating… or our new workouts – anything goes! That way, they’re much more likely to succeed in the long term, keeping them motivated and on track with their goals.
“Body Magic is a holistic programme that works for everyone, and our videos have been created to be as accessible as possible too, with workouts for 5, 10, 15 and 30 minutes, and at various fitness levels. As members become more confident, they can increase the time or the intensity of their activity (or both!) until being physically active has become something they love, and a natural part of their everyday life!”

Slimming World was founded by Margaret Miles-Bramwell OBE in Derbyshire in 1969 and has become the UK and Ireland’s leading weight loss organisation with more people choosing to attend a Slimming World group each week than any other weight loss programme. We support hundreds of thousands of people, both in our groups and online, to lose weight and to adopt new habits to stay slim for life.
Over the years our founding principles haven’t changed:
Our unique programme is based on a powerfully motivating support system called IMAGE (Individual Motivation and Group Experience) Therapy. Underpinned by a deep understanding of the psychology of overweight people, and incorporating the most effective sustainable behaviour change techniques, IMAGE Therapy is designed to inspire and motivate slimmers to make positive changes and to develop new, healthier habits around food and activity.
Food Optimising is our healthy eating plan, based on the liberating concept of Free Food. We encourage our members to fill up on those foods that are naturally lower in energy density (calories per gram) and also highly satisfying while limiting foods that are highest in fat and sugar and are less satisfying, so they lose weight without ever feeling hungry or deprived and without having to weigh, measure or count everything they eat.
Our activity programme, Body Magic helps members to overcome any barriers around activity. Members choose when to start and they set the pace, finding activities they genuinely enjoy, until regular physical activity becomes an intrinsic part of their daily routine.
At the heart of everything we do lies our passion for treating every member with genuine care, empathy and respect.
We’re proud to work with the NHS, the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID), The Royal College of Midwives and others to help shape the future of weight management in the UK and Ireland.
