Slimming World hold discussions on obesity at Westminster

Slimming World hosted a roundtable event and Parliamentary Reception at the Houses of Parliament in November, bringing MPs, Peers, health professionals and other industry experts together to debate ways in which the obesity epidemic could be tackled

The roundtable sessions included discussions on body image and self-esteem, how health professionals can sensitively raise the issue of weight with patients, and calls for a national voice to determine who should be responsible for commissioning weight management services.

The discussion sessions were followed by a Parliamentary Reception hosted by Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE. Both events concluded with calls to action from Slimming World, with the aim of supporting even more people throughout the UK living with obesity by helping them to lose weight, improve health outcomes and achieve their dreams.
